Mandu party

A few weekends ago several of us made the trip to nearby Daegu to Chris' girlfriend's house. Hwui Lin is from China and so has a natural ability when it comes to making dumplings, or 'man-du' (만두) as they're called in Korean. With Hwui Lin coaching, we all hunkered down and set about wrapping up tasty little packets in two flavours, pork and shrimp. Here's the end result, just before eatin' time.

Judging by the expression on Chris' face, Colin has just said something appaling/shocking/perplexing.

A little later we took a walk to get something from the store.

Colin and Justin awaitin'.

More food!!

It seems these days the only thing worth blogging about is what I eat, so here I go with some more good eats...

Kept walking by a new Chinese place so I thought I'd try it out. Chinese places are good for the solo dweller as they will gladly deliver single orders for low cost with incredible speed.

The first dish is 'ma-pa-tu-bu' (마파두부). It's a spicy tofu stir fry, and this one came with loads of fresh veggies. I was pleased.

The second dish is 'nak-ji-bokk-eum' (낙지볶음), another spicy stir fry, this time with baby octopus. Look at that crazy tentacle!!

Overall the dishes were quite tasty; for the low price of 5000 won and delivered right to my door not bad at all!
